Thank you to all the students for welcoming me back. Mlle Coughlin covered Chapters 5 and 6. Students were tested on both chapters and had to complete a project as well. The Grade 7's were to make a poster concerning "Les the Loyalistes" and the Grade 8's were to make a poster on the Canadian Pacific Railway.
Grade 7
We are beginning Chapter 7 and exploring different types of conflicts and the steps to take to resolve these conflicts. Students will be tested on the new vocabulary for this chapter. The rest of the chapter will be completed in a form of an ISU (Independent Studies Unit). Each student will have a booklet to complete in class. He/she is to complete the booklet using his/her text book to answer various questions. Questions could be fill-in-the-blanks, multiple choice, yes/no, short answers or graphs. Each day the student will be given the page or pages that should be completed during class time. The booklet will be evaluated periodically and the student will be marked on its completion.
Grade 8
We are beginning Chapter 7 and exploring among other things, the battle to end child labour and women's right to vote. Students will be tested on the new vocabulary for this chapter.
