L'Histoire du Canada
We are off to a great start in History. Students each have a text and will need resources (binder, paper, workbook) to take notes. This subject is taught in French language. The students' texts are written in French and all tests are in French language. We begin each chapter with a list of vocabulary words and their definitions for better understanding of the content.
Grade 7

In chapter 1, we learned about the new arrivals to "la Nouvelle-France". Students will be tested on this chapter keeping in mind Jacques Cartier (with the help of Donacona) and Samuel to Champlain and their importance in the development of "la Nouvelle-France"; the Jesuit priests and Ursuline nuns who's mission was to convert "les authoctones" to Catholicism; and the development of "les seigneuries".
In chapter 2 we will explore the social aspect of "la Nouvelle-France".
Grade 8

In chapter 1, we learned about British North America in the middle of the 19th century. Students will be tested on this chapter keeping in mind the problem with non-resident landowners on "l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard"; the effects of industry; and the large surge of immigration. As well, we looked at how these effects are still important in Canada today.
In chapter 2 we will explore the factors at the origin of "la Confédération".
